The best things in life tend to be the ones that we have to be patient for… you know those things that happen that seemingly take forever to take place, but once they do, all you can think was, “Worth the wait.”
That’s how I feel about working with Mr. & Mrs. Patterson. Amanda and Dreagan booked me for their original wedding date of August 29, 2020. We shot their engagement session back in November of 2019, so if you missed that post, you can find that HERE.
They had big plans to tie the knot in the prettiest chapel in Fort Worth with a celebration following downtown. Obviously we all know the Universe had other plans… but once again, it was worth the wait. When Amanda, her mom Lisa, and I met up in June 2020 for her Bridal portraits, we were optimistic that things would clear up… but as the original date grew nearer, they decided to forgo their big wedding for a later date in 2021 and have an intimate backyard wedding with about 15 people in attendance. Normally I share Bridals within 48 hours of the wedding day, but since Mrs. Patterson opted for a more casual wedding dress, I had to keep this gorgeous gallery under lock and key until May 2021. Almost an entire YEAR of waiting to share a session that I am most proud of… and again, I say: WORTH THE WAIT.
The weather was typical for June in Texas; hot, kinda balmy, but with the most romantic, golden sunsets. The bright light filtered ornately through the huge trees on TCU’s campus, highlighting Amanda to where she looked like a glowing angel. In her gown (which looked like it was made for her) she twirled, giggled, and beamed with pride knowing that she had passed all her exams and officially became a lawyer. That’s right, y’all; beauty AND brains. In between shrieks of joy from myself seeing the magic on the back of my camera we gabbed about her upcoming wedding and how perfect everything had turned out up until that point. Now that May 1, 2021 has come and gone, I’m taking a break from editing their big celebration photos (zomg just wait til you see them) and finally sharing this with the world.
All the love to Lilium Floral Design for the bridal bouquet and Grand Slam Glam for hair and makeup! I’m sure this won’t be the last you see of Mrs. Patterson! I’ll be blogging her wedding here soon, so keep your eyes peeled. In the meantime… enjoy!
