If you’re a Fort Worth local, you are familiar with the architectural marvel that is the Marty Leonard Chapel. Sitting atop a hill next door to the best grocery store ever (Central Market), the brainchild of famed architect E. Fay Jones lets in every bit of natural light. It really does take your breath away as soon as you walk inside, like love at first sight.
Melissa & Brandon’s lovestory is a little bit similar to love at first sight… she was waitressing at a cafe and he would come in every morning for coffee. He was crushing hard, but too shy to say anything. After a while, she got a new job and they didn’t see each other for a while… but then fate stepped in! He came in to her new job, they instantly recognized each other, and after a whirlwind romance, Brandon proposed at the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens. The rest is history.
Thursday, February 25, 2021 was the day they vowed forever to each other. The skies threatened rain, but we got lucky and it only sprinkled a tiny bit during outdoor portraits. The couple read handwritten vows to each other and sealed a bottle of French wine in a lockbox to savor together on their 5th wedding anniversary. Surrounded by their closest friends and family, they became Man and Wife.
The decor was tasteful, classic; whites, soft peaches, and pops of blue sapphires stood out in stark contrast with the warm wood tones that is the Chapel. Melissa’s off shoulder bridal gown was elegance personified and I think everyone let out a soft, “Wow!” when she came down the aisle.
Because it was such an intimate event, Marc and I were only there for the most important parts: prep, ceremony, and portraits. What a joy those 3 hours were! You could feel the love when you looked at these lovebirds. Check out their teaser trailer and photo story of the best Thursday ever below.
Marty Leonard Chapel looks like a picture-perfect place to say I do and you captured their wedding day beautifully. Love the colors and light!
