Winter Engagement Session at The Dallas Arboretum | Dallas Wedding Photographer

One of my all time favorite things about being a photographer is when I get to photograph the happiest times for friends I went to high school with. Brittany is another Burkburnett High School alum whose love story I get to document. She and Landon are getting married next December, but I always recommend having your engagement session about a year before the Big Day. Upsides of that:
-Having photos to use for your Save the Dates
-Brand spankin’ new profile photos for social media 😉
-Getting to show as much PDA as possible
-Hanging out with me. Duh ;P

Anyways, what better place for a winter engagement session than The Dallas Arboretum? It has 66 acres of manicured gorgeousness. The Japanese Maples have all turned red, the evergreens are still showing off, and the cooler temps make a stroll through the gardens so much nicer. The silver lining to all that is if you’re a big Christmas lover, the Arboretum has their 12 Days of Christmas set up to explore afterwards.

Brittany showed up absolutely rocking her blue Baltic Born dress!! It added a nice pop of contrasting color to the rest of the space and had so much movement to it. If only I were a little bit taller, I would buy one of every color. Alas… these dresses are made for taller people. I do love how she coordinated their outfits to pair with their wedding colors–all the way down to the blush pink fingernail polish.

I’m gonna get a little nerdy here real quick because I am OB.SESSED. with my Canon 135 f/2L lens. The haze it produces is pure magic. The swirly bokeh makes me swoon. The compression is sooooooooo good. Unf. If you’re a photographer, get this lens in your camera bag ASAP. I’m pretty sure I could shoot an entire session on it plus my 50. #DreamTeam

These cuties love each other a lot, which made photographing them a breeze. I can’t wait to celebrate with you lovebirds December 2021! You had me at Brunch Wedding. Congratulations!

If you’re reading this and are newly engaged or still hunting for the wedding dream team, Marc is offering videography and I’m always ready to hear your love story. Hit us up!

Pro tip for the Dallas Arboretum: because of the pandemic, all tickets must be purchased online in advance and cannot be purchased at the gate. Masks are required, so when you’re not posed please be courteous to those around you and mask up. The Arboretum also does NOT allow outfit changes, so arrive dressed and ready to go.
