Josh & Tiffany | Four Year Anniversary Session in the Museum District | Fort Worth Wedding Photographer

I KNOW you guys know who Josh and Tiffany are. I’ve only been photographing them since the summer of 2015. If you’re new here, then let me introduce you to The Browns. They had the most beautiful Louisiana plantation wedding and they’ve been coming back to me since their engagement session (I guess I should say sessions, we did two!) to document their growing love. I like to describe them as my cheerleaders. They’re two of my biggest support systems ever since I went full time with Swan Photography. We’ve done holi powder, urban glam, freezing cold garden fetes, intimate snuggle sessions, and now for their fourth anniversary: black tie portraits in the Fort Worth Museum District.

If you haven’t been to the Museum District, it’s an absolute must! There’s something for everyone. My personal favorite is The Modern (free on Fridays, half price on Sundays), which is where we started the session. There’s also The Kimbell, Amon Carter, and the Museum of Science and History (my oldest son’s favorite). So many options and SO MUCH BEAUTY! These babes just added to it 😉

The weather in January 2020 was nothing short of depressing. Luckily for us, we got the most beautiful, radiant sunshine everrrrr. No wonder half of Fort Worth was outside! It was heaven. Or maybe it’s because the Stock Show is in town… either way; it was perfection. I’m not sure which glowed more: the sunset or Tiffany’s smile.

That’s one of my favorite thing about photographing Tiff and Josh–the sheer joy they exude. We all know marriage is hard work, but there’s something about this couple y’all. Every time I see them they’re even happier than before. They flirt, they laugh, they snuggled, they show a little PDA, and there’s always a butt grab happening 😉 but that’s the sign of a healthy, thriving marriage. It’s another reason why I freaking love photographing them so damn much.

If you follow me on social media, you’ve undoubtedly seen a few of the images from this session. What can I say? I’m a little obsessed. Each year just gets better and better.

We ended up shooting all the way through Blue Hour. It was so special to be able to watch the sun set over Downtown. It’s a city that means so much to all three of us.

And now for my favorite part of the session: THE DOUBLE EXPOSURE!!!! Mr. & Mrs. Brown are always so patient with me when I think of a crazy idea or want to introduce some weird fractals for effect. After a few moments of them holding still and holding each other I finally NAILED IT!!!! Ahhhhhh! Sorry, not sorry. I’m damn proud of this shot. It will forever be one of my favorites. The fact that it’s of one of my all time favorite couples just makes it that much better.

For my photographer/gear enthusiasts: this entire session, minus the last image, was shot on the mirrorless Canon EOS R. I figured if I spent that much money on it, I may as well get some use out of it when Marc isn’t using it for videography.

Pros:
-it almost never misses focus!
-it’s so lightweight. My carpal tunnel isn’t screaming at me by the end of the day, which I so appreciate.
-it looks cool.

Cons:
-there’s no dual card slot
-low light capabilities are disappointing to me. Grain should not be an issue at ISO 400, especially on a new model.

Double Exposure was shot on the Canon 5D Mark IV. I’m sure the EOS R can achieve a double exposure, I just haven’t played with it enough to know how yet. But that’s what practice is for 😉

I hope you all enjoyed this! I’m sure by next year there will be another round of these beautiful faces gracing your screen.

You’re welcome!
