What can I say about Brandon & Monica’s wedding day besides that it was storybook perfection? How incredibly fitting, since Brandon proposed to Monica with her ring hidden in the back of “Pride and Prejudice”.
If you’ve never been to The Brooks at Weatherford, it’s a gem. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and nestled in the middle of a large, open field is a charming open air chapel. Follow the winding path up to the reception hall which has stunning natural light and a rustic stone hearth; the perfect setting to a perfect day. After nearly a week full of rainy days, the sun made it’s appearance for the perfect sun soaked afternoon.
The day started like any other wedding–finishing touches were added to the venue as the bride and groom were hidden away in their respective rooms, fighting back the butterflies and giddy anxiety in preparation for their first look and vows. Monica made sure no personal touch was left behind, between sorority traditions, a six pence in her shoe, and personalized gifts for her family, there was rarely a dry eye. Though tears were shed, they were immediately followed up with bursts of laughter and tons of hugs. The bond she and her family share is so strong, I made the joke that they should adopt me!
During the gift exchange, Monica had told me that she was going to make her dad cry. Sure enough:
No wedding is complete without a pair of the most perfect, sparkly shoes!
Can we talk about this light, though? Literal perfection.
Portraits at dusk… a surprise vintage car… and a FIREWORK DISPLAY! One of the things I appreciated about this wedding was the ample time for portraits throughout the day. Wanna make sure your photographer is happy? Do that. 😉
The following photo is one of my favorites I’ve ever taken. Before the private last dance, Monica and her daughter shared a beautiful embrace and so many sweet words. This girl just adores her new mom.
As Taylor Swift says, “Today was a fairytale.” Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Schumacher!
