Elissa and I went to high school together at good ol’ Burkburnett High School. We were both huge band geeks (she was the Colorguard Captain, I was the Low Brass Section Leader) and I photographed her once or twice back in the day. Back then she told me if she ever got engaged I was going to be her photographer, and then in 2013 it happened: Will proposed! Now the fun part was planning a Texas wedding from Maryland, but they pulled it off with the help of family and some awesome San Antonio and Austin based vendors.
Everything was perfect! The venue was gorgeous and rustic, everything was green from the copious amounts of rain Texas had gotten this spring, everyone buzzed around excitedly, and the details were amazing! I loved all of the hand done elements and the unique touches, like the cigar bar and the guest quilt in place of a traditional guest book. There were even root beer floats served after dinner and cake! That right there is reason enough for this to be one of my FAVORITE WEDDINGS OF ALL TIME!
Elissa’s wedding package came with a Bridal session, but that’s pretty hard to do from a different state, so we improvised and did it the same day!
The little ring bearer was the cutest! While everyone was praying, he was peaking!
And then my favorite part of the night happened… Night Portraits!
Will and Elissa, your wedding was perfect. Thank you and your family for being so kind and wonderful! Next time you come to Texas, we’re doing dinner!
