Let me just start this post off by saying Xing and Mengchao’s wedding was INCREDIBLE. Between the love these two shared, the perfect venues, the stunning dress, the warm hospitality showed by both friends and family, and the details… *swoon*.
The morning of September 27th started at the Fairfield Suites by Marriott where Xing and her bridesmaids were getting ready. All was calm and organized… and then, the guys arrived. I knew in advance that there would be a First Look. What I didn’t know was how AWESOME it was going to be. The First Looks that I am used to are quiet, intimate moments between just the Bride and Groom before the ceremony. In Chinese culture, it’s like a game. The bridesmaids guarded the door while the Groom and his groomsmen laughed, whooped, sang, and passed notes under the hotel door. After several minutes of notes being passed, lots of begging, and even Mengchao’s credit card being delivered, the ladies deemed the gifts acceptable and the Groom was welcome to collect his prize, the radiant Xing!
After the First Look, the Bridal Party hopped on a shuttle to deliver them to the beautifully designed Marty Leonard Chapel. This venue is one of my all time favorites, not only because of the intricate architecture, but also because of the abundance of natural light. I loved that Xing and Mengchao were into mixing the Chinese and Western culture! Most of the ceremony was in English, the vows were in Chinese, and the Bride and Groom also partook in a Unity Sand ceremony. It was beautiful! When the ceremony was finished, the group once again boarded the shuttle which then traveled to the Fort Worth Japanese Gardens. You guys… the Japanese Gardens are gorgeous on their own. They’re so serene and tranquil. I couldn’t imagine them being anymore beautiful than they already are naturally, until I saw the magic that Lottie of Grit + Gold worked. WOW. Beautiful centerpieces filled with blush pink flowers filled the tables, live succulents were thank you gifts to the guests, the gorgeous four tiered cake was the focal point with a plate of handcrafted macarons on one side and chocolate dipped strawberries on the the other, soft acoustic guitar music flowed along with the breeze, and a fun Photo Booth and custom beverage station completed the set up. My words seriously don’t do it justice. It’s picture time, y’all.
What did I tell you? Pure perfection. I’m so excited to have worked with an amazingly talented team of vendors as well.
Xing & Mengchao: You two are the happiest, sweetest couple ever. Every detail of your wedding day was perfect and reflected your love. Thank you so much for trusting me with your day. I’m so glad you love your photos (I think I love them just as much as you do!) May you two be blessed with a long, happy marriage.
